PLANNING FOR BETTER COMMUNITY COMMUNICATIONS
Mantra
delivers clarity and focus to communications
Mantra
was commissioned by South Northamptonshire Council to
provide a framework for developing a four year
communications strategy and plan for delivery, running for
the period 2004-2007.
Key to developing the framework was having the
strategic objectives directly linked to the Council’s
vision and aims.
The
framework for the communications plan focused on ensuring
the Council had in place policies and actions to ensure
effective communications with its residents, the general
public, stakeholders, businesses and partners.
Our work with South Northamptonshire Council had a strong
internal focus, and the communications plan was built
around identifying key aspects of the Council’s overall
strategy that were vital for employees to understand in
order for them to be able to effectively communicate these
key points to external communities and stakeholder groups.
Measurement of progress against the strategy was key in
creating the plan for delivery, breaking down each
objective and looking at key messages to be communicated
to the appropriate audiences, as well as tracking
accountability, responsibility and action points at each
stage of the process.
Further to this, we provided consultancy and advice on
creating a communications protocol and style guide for the
delivery future communications strategies and tactical
plans.
At
a time when the image of local government is under heavy
scrutiny, Mantra has provided the council with a solid
platform on which to base their communications structure
and branding for the new millennium.
